A lot of us spend a great deal of time at home and our homes should always feel like our own space to retreat and relax. Home decor helps a lot with this as it allows us to turn our houses into homes and create a space that reflects our personalities that works for everyone in the home. Sometimes though, decor can start to feel dated and in desperate need of a refresh as the years go by. Today I want to share with you some of my own tips for ways to give one of the main rooms in the house, the sitting/ living room, a nice refresh!

1. Add mirrors
This has to be one of the easiest ways to give a room a quick and inexpensive refresh. Mirrors can help fill large wall spaces and they also help bounce around natural light and so they are a great way to make a room feel bigger than it actually is.

2. Move the furniture around
I was always amazed as a child just how much difference it made to the room when my Mum used to change the furniture around in it. I remember always thinking that it felt like a brand new room afterwards and that the room felt instantly refreshed! And that's something I've carried into adulthood because it's true, it really can make such a difference just changing a few pieces of larger furniture around. Take a look at your own space, could you move the sofa or the coffee table or the TV stand or maybe all of it around to make the space that you have perhaps work better and help give the room a refresh?
