5 Bedroom Ideas For Autumn

*Guest post

As the days get shorter and the nights get darker we are all guilty of spending more time in our comfy beds. But do you ever look at your bedroom and think it’s lacking something? Are the walls looking a little bare and is your bed appearing a bit dated?

Your bedroom should be a peaceful and tranquil space that represents your personality and helps you to enjoy a relaxing night sleep through the colder seasons. These 5 steps are simple ways for you to update your own and little one’s bedroom with ease.

Pick a theme
Whether you're deciding to spruce up a single room or a whole house, you'll need to choose a style and theme that fits with your personality. When it comes to choosing your own personal style the sky's the limit and there's really no reason for anyone to be stuck with a home decorating scheme that doesn't represent your own unique style and interests. The little ones room can be as unique or as basic as you like, whether you’re looking for a more Disney aspired or a more unique theme, there are plenty of products out there to choose from!
Get a rug
If your carpet or wooden floor has seen better days, then instead of replacing the entire thing why not invest in a beautiful new rug. This simple addition can work in all types of rooms and can either act as added texture, or fit wall-to-wall to make the room appear more spacious. Not only does a rug add extra texture to your room, it also boasts plenty of practical benefits through the colder months. The fabric will hold in the heat and be the perfect place to warm your chilly feet up in the mornings.
Maximise light
With the nights getting darker, mirrors will not only make your room look super stylish but also add brightness to yours and your little one’s bedroom. Available in all shapes and sizes, you can pick a style of mirror that either blends into you room or stands out as a fantastic focal point. Wardrobes with mirrored doors are a great solution for not only maximising light but also for storage space if you are lacking obvious wall space.
Organise your storage space
It can be difficult to update your bedroom if you are lacking storage space. Which is why multi-functional pieces could be a great option this winter. Ottoman beds are fantastic for small bedrooms as they are maximising storage by utilising the space under the mattress. Not only can you store more woolly knits and blankets for the colder nights but you can also hide the little ones clutter out of sight.
Introduce new accent pieces
Whether you’re looking for something bold are more delicate, room accessories can vary from simple touches such as flowers to a large vase or structure. Accent chairs are an effortless way to add personality to your bedroom with either a simple block colour or jazzy pattern for a modern look. Introducing new textures and styles into your bedroom is a great way to show your unique side. Why not introduce outdoor furniture in your design for a natural and outdoor feel?

  1. I love being all cosy in our bedroom, and have just added a comfy throw and some fairy lights from good old Primark. I love chilling out in bed with a good book every night when the kids are in bed x
