Me and Mine: July 2015

Woah - where did July go?!

I remember the first few months of Ethans life going by so quickly, it was just a blur and though I feel like this time around I'm doing my best to make sure that I don't end up feeling like Logans first few months are a blur, they're still passing by so unbelievablly quick! I suppose that's what happens when you're thrown out of a usual sort of routine and learn how to adjust to having a whole brand new person in your family life.

- (The one where your family decide that this month they really aren't into the whole lets take a family photo thing and no matter how many times you try, somebody in the photo always looks totally and utterly uninterested (in this case - Ethan!). So after x number of attempts - you give up and simply and shamelessly end up choosing the photo that you personally think you look the nicest in ;)..)

July has been a mixed month, mixed in many ways really.. obviously our first month as being a family of four has felt amazing. Adam and I have had many a conversation this month about how incredibly lucky we feel. We feel blessed and the most content we've ever felt. But anyone that's ever had a baby will know just how hard it can be to adjust. Our family does well with a routine in place for many reasons and obviously previous routines get thrown up in the air with the arrival of a new baby. So we're still trying to find something that works for us right now routine wise.

There have been days in July that have totally overwhelmed us and there have been days where we've felt so in control and almost sailed through the day. July certainly has been mixed - even the weather here in the UK doesn't quite know what it's doing with itself.

This month I'm sharing three of our July family photographs. The two either side of this piece of text were taken by the amazing Francesca DB Photography, who photographed Logan for his newborn photo shoot. They were taken on the 6th July, just three weeks ago and when I compare the size of Logan to the photograph above that we took at home yesterday - it's pretty incredible to see how much he's grown in just a few weeks!

I really love all of the photos that Francesca (who was also our wedding photographer) captured for us and I'll be sharing a selection of some more of my favourites here on my blog very soon. She's amazing at what she does and I'd happily recommend her to anyone living anywhere near to Cambridgeshire, where she is based.

It seems almost crazy that it's August already tomorrow. August will see Adam and I celebrating our third wedding anniversary and to be quite honest I don't even know how that's come about.. how it's been nearly three years since we married eachother I really don't know! And then in September I'm 27 - 27!!!!! Don't even get me started on how I'm nearly 27!!! And then in October we celebrate Adams 27th birthday and then after November it'll be Christmas.. which is just absolutely unfathomable! But anyway.. I will stop now, my brain seems to be just totally running away with itself quite a bit right now. It almost sounds like I'm wishing my life away doesn't it?! But I'm really not - I promise! ;)
dear beautiful
This month I'm sending you over to say Hi to the lovely Lucy- if you don't already know, she's the one with all of the very stunning photography!

  10. Wow these are absolutely amazing photos (as always) and you all look so happy and beautiful. I am so glad it's going so well for you darling. Isn't it amazing having two??? Your photos are always so full of light and happiness. I do the same when the family doesn't want to get involved in family portraits I pick the photo that's nicest of myself. hahaha YOu look stunning after just having a baby bouncing right back. Lovely family portraits that middle one makes me so broody and wishing I had taken professional photos when either of the kids were infants. I never did and missed out on that so much.

  13. Beautiful photos Alex. Next month we're going to go from a family of three to become four and quite honestly I still don't know how we're going to cope. It's good to hear you're getting on OK though and I'm sure your routine will settle down again soon.

  15. Such lovely pictures, I particularly like the middle one, it's absolutely stunning. I can only imagine what it's like with two, one is hard enough, so I think you're doing great to sail through some days- I think I'd find every day overwhelming!!

  16. Beautiful photos of you all, now you're a family of 4. Lovely to have some professional photos done when Logan was still so small as they do grow so quick!
