Baby #2: Our DIY Maternity Photographs (Part one: At Home)

I always wished that I had taken more photographs of my bump when I was pregnant with Ethan. In reality, I do have a lot - I have one for near enough every week, however I always wanted more and I would have liked some like we've tried to take here, with lots of focus on the bump. There's just something I love about being able to look back on the times when I carried my children. Pregnancy, though it can sometimes feel like such a long period of time, in reality really does pass by so quickly and so I like the idea of capturing the growing bump and the idea of being able to hold on to that memory forever.

I did have a maternity photoshoot booked with the same lady who took mine and Adam's wedding photos, however I had to keep changing the date due to different circumstances and in the end I suggested that perhaps a newborn shoot might be better as I'd just got so close to my due date. But not wanting to miss out on the idea of capturing some maternity photographs alltogether, Adam and I decided to capture some ourselves. Clearly neither of us are professional photographers, but for us it's not about having the perfect photos, it's about capturing this wonderful moment in our lives, the moments that we spent as a three waiting to become a family of four.

We also took some outside maternity photos, as I'd specifically brought a brand new dress especially for the maternity shoot. I'll be sharing them here on my blog tomorrow.

  5. Alex you are so beautiful and I adore these photos. The ones of you and Ethan brought tears to my eyes. I wish I had taken more bump photos when I was pregnant too. I only have a few as I lost a lot when my phone broke.

You are so close to end now. SO exciting. :)

  6. These photos came out beautiful. I'm currently 33 weeks and debating if I still want to go get mine done. In which I'm debating if I should just have some friends take photos at like a beach or something and then get professional newborn photos done instead.
