Fun & Inexpensive Ideas for this Half Term that Everyone Will Enjoy!

Half term is back, which can only mean one thing: kids who are bored and parents who are going crazy. You're probably already counting down the days until you don't have to worry about getting up early to make the school run. Sound familiar? You're not the only one dealing with this, and there are lots of activities you could be doing with the kids that would not only help you keep your sanity, but also provide you some quality time together as a family. Take a peek at these half-term activities that not only the kids but also mum and dad will love.

Plan a movie marathon.

Let's be honest: staying in bed all day sounds really great. Why not plan a family movie day by going out the day before to grab some refreshments and some inexpensive DVDs to watch together? Gather under the duvets in the living room and enjoy a day of snacking on your favourite American Sweets, drinks, and family-friendly films. It will also afford you the opportunity to sit with your family and laugh!

Host a party.

If there's one thing that kids really enjoy, it's being in a crowded place with lots of other people. Therefore, why not take advantage of the opportunity presented to you during the half term to organise a party for your friends, family, and why not let your kids invite a few of their mates over as well? While the children are having a good time playing together, you will have the opportunity to talk to other adults. Perfect right?

Teach your kids through play.

Every parent hopes they'll have the resources to provide their kids a good education and equip them with skills they can use in the real world. Why not show them about your neighbourhood and fill them in on the area's background while you give them a tour? This is useful for future reference in class and for understanding their local community.

Swimming

Swimming is one of those rare activities that is enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities. Jumping into a deep pool and letting the water carry you away is the best feeling in the world. In addition to that, it's a skill that comes in quite handy (and may be a lot of fun) in everyday life. Take the kids to the pool, where you can all have a great time watching them develop their swimming skills, make new friends, and have a blast!

Make some cookies.

This is one of the more cliche suggestions, but it's still great for the whole family. And, of course, cookies are loved by everyone. Gather all of the necessary components, and then hand the reins of the kitchen on to your offspring. Plus, there will be plenty of possibilities for Instagram-worthy photos.

As you can see, you don't have to spend the entire half term cooped up inside, and many of these activities don't even involve a large financial outlay. Try out any (or all) of these suggestions to save your sanity and offer the kids an unforgettable half term. Don't forget to take as many pictures as you can, because times like this go by too fast.
