New Subscription Box for Baby Clothes: Box Upon A Time Review

We've been lucky enough to receive a lovely new subscription box this month from a brand new company called Box Upon a Time. Box Upon a Time delivers to parents’ doorsteps a monthly selection of baby branded clothes handpicked by their stylists at discounts of up to 60% off.

My Box Upon a Time experience started with me logging onto their website and completing a quick and fun fashion quiz to determine Ethans fashion profile. The quiz was all about style, favourite colours, patterns and the types of clothes I liked to dress Ethan in. I was also asked for Ethans birthday, height and weight.

Based on the Fashion Profile I'd set for Ethan, a designated stylist then handpicked matching clothes to send to us in our fully personalised box. The whole process was quick and fun to do and the website is extremely easy to use.

On arrival, I was so excited to open the box. There is something about monthly subscription boxes, where you don't quite know what's inside that is just so fun. The box itself is really lovely and I like the simple design it has, I would however have liked it if it arrived inside a mailing cardboard box or something like that. One side of my box was damaged in the mail and the fact that the address and stamp have been put onto the box itself made it a bit unattractive to be able to keep to store in Ethans bedroom (some people like myself like to collect pretty boxes like this to use as storage etc).

Inside the box was a note to say who the stylist was that had selected my box and where I could leave feedback. I liked this, but I do wish that there would have been some information about the clothes and the brands. Perhaps a website for the brand and a further discount so that if we wanted to buy anymore clothes from a particular brand then we'd know where to go.

We had three items of clothing inside our box, a pair of grey leggings, a green long sleeved top and a pair of grey trousers. ALL of these items are incredibly soft. I couldn't be happier with the quality of the clothes we received in our box.

Here Ethan's wearing two of his pieces. The leggings are my absolute favourite item, they're just perfect for days in or days out of the house and they are incredibly easy for Ethan to crawl around in. They look really stylish in my opinion and I know he's really comfortable in them.

The top is brilliant, though it's not something I would have ever brought, I absolutely love it on him. And that is what is so great about Box Upon A Time. You get introduced to brands and clothing styles that you may have not previously heard about or you may not have considered before.

My only criticism with the clothes is that they say they are his next size up yet they seemed to perhaps be a little small for lasting as long as they say they do.

The third item was these pair of trousers, which again we love. They are incredibly comfortable yet also stylish and pretty much match all of his tops!

As of today, Box Upon a Time has partnered with 20 brands, all of them providing top-quality clothes, with some very well-known names such as Tartine & Chocolat, Diesel, Toffee Moon and many more.
To receive the box parents pay a monthly membership fee of £49 per month. Box Upon a Time guarantee that the value of the Box is at least £82 (minimum of 40% discount).
I think this box would make for a fantastic birth gift from family, friends and colleagues as it combines a lovely surprise with perfectly fitting clothes chosen by the new parents.

  1. The clothes look fab and I like the idea of it however I personally wouldn't have £49 spare a month especially for only 3 items of clothing x

  4. I love the grey trousers!!! I think designer brands do tend to run small on their sizing unfortunately, I`m not sure why that is! :/ xxx

    1. That's right designer brands can be a bit funny with sizes! This is why Box Upon A Time requests the baby's height as well to make sure sizes are correct :).

  12. I loved the concept but have been so disappointed. The first box I recieved I liked the style of 4 of the 5 items yet the 2 knitwear pieces were 100% acrylic. Not the quality natural fabrics I'd been lead to believe they provided, or indeed that the particular brand promised in the enclosed info about each garment. They were friendly and swift to provide me with a return label. I returned this box over a month ago and still no contact from them at all. My second box was even worse, poor style, polyester trousers and more acrylic knitware. I contacted them again to request my return label - I have sent 3 emails and 1 voicemail over the last 3 weeks and still no response. My subscription is now cancelled but I've spent £100 with them and have nothing to show for it. Nice idea but the reality is a polar opposite. Regrettably I strongly advise you stay away.
