A UK BASED FAMILY & LIFESTYLE BLOG

Becoming a parent means having little people in your life who become your first priority at all times, but it doesn't mean giving up on self-care and time for your partner. I'm a big believer in that to give our children our best we have to not let ourselves start to run on empty, after all, you can't pour from an empty cup. And that applies to our relationship with our partners too.

Adam and I pour so much love, time and attention into parenting, but we also ensure that we make plenty of time for us too. We're fortunate in that the boys' Grandparents are very involved in our lives and will often offer to take the boys out or to have them stay overnight. They love spending time with the boys and it means that Adam and I get to spend quality time with each other. But we don't limit our quality time to just when the boys are not here - things like date nights can happen in the comfort of your own home in the form of cooking each other a special meal, turning off phones and the TV and just enjoying each others company.
