A family video from March 2016 #MyMonthlyMontage

I can't tell you how much I enjoy making these family videos each month. They almost help me to feel like I for once have a little control over time, as I get to sit, watch and re-live the details that go in to the moments that I want to remember the most.

Without these videos, the details of the ordinary moments are easily forgotten. Snippets of random bits of video get lost on the hard drive never to be seen again.

But #MyMonthlyMontage is about putting those small, short clips together to form something much bigger - a visual story of our month together as a family,  a way to remember it all.

This month I've watched beautiful March montages from Hayley from Sparkles and Stretchmarks and Emma from My Pretty Mummy - each telling the story of their own families' March 2016.

I love it so much when other people share their own monthly montages with me, there's something so captivating about watching other families home videos. It's nice to be a fly on the wall for a while, sure, but I love the natural everyday family moments the best and that's really what these videos are all about.

They're about having something that you can look back on in years to come when the little ones are older and for us it's also about having it to look back on now, Adam, I and the boys regularly watch our own videos back. The boys have grown so quickly already - it's amazing to see how much they change in just a few short months.

    1. I know what you mean. I upload all of my clips to the computer once a month and set a little time aside to make it in to one big video, I always feel like it's so worth it after I've done it. :) xx

    1. Aww thank you! I use iMovie on my iMac/MacBook to edit the video clips together. I just upload them to the computer once a month so they're all together then edit them together, I take the sound mostly out and replace it with music. :) xx
