Fabulous Maritime Inspired Shoes for Spring/Summer 2014

Thank goodness for spring! Winter always seem to go on for a little longer than it’s welcome but this year has been a little more difficult than, last year, right? **wonders if memory is failing**
Well, regardless of whether it’s true or not, one things for sure: it’s time to celebrate spring flowers, the clocks changing and the thought that summer is not so far away at all! I thought I’d share some gorgeous shoes with you that are just prefect for the transitioning seasons and will take you right through spring, into summer and even perhaps on to autumn too. What are these shoes? I hear you cry! Well they’re deck shoes of course! Read on if you’d like to join the maritime trend and get yourself set for all that’s to come...

If you haven’t worn deck shoes in the past as you’ve found them too heavy for the brighter months, you may just love this solution from Chatham Marine. They are gorgeous canvas boat shoes that look just as stylish as the real thing but are much lighter to wear. We’re pretty excited about the range of colours that they offer - one for every outfit! What do you think?

Izzy Canvas Boat shoes are just like a classic deck shoe but are made from a durable, lightweight canvas. I’m rather taken with their stripy interior too, because who doesn’t like stripes in the summer months? They also have a non-slip rubber sole meaning they are just as well suited to navigating a slippery pavement with a pushchair on rainy Saturday, as they are to some serious sporting activity! Perfect. So, importantly, let’s talk about colours.

This soft lilac shade has got us dreaming of holidays to France, fresh lavender growing in abundance and summer skies. Aren’t they cute? They would look gorgeous with a white linen dress or anything in soft, floaty cotton. Summer is just around the corner, right?

For those who prefer bolder tones there’s this very wearable shade of red. Can you imagine stepping out in these on a spring day, coupled with a pair of blue jeans and a stripy tee? The marine look is set to be HUGE this season and this would be one cool way to get involved. In fact the Izzy Boat Shoes would look pretty awesome with a pair of capri pants too and a light summer knit.

And how about navy? Navy is infinitely wearable, never goes out of fashion and you can wear it with anything – even black. Don’t you just love the stripes on the lining? I know I’ve mentioned it already but Chatham have an attention to detail that makes wearing their products a joy.

So which are your favourites? Or are you like me hoping to get all three?! I can think of three or four outfits to wear with each! Let us know your thoughts and don’t forget to check out Chatham’s range of top quality marine inspired footwear if you want to jump aboard the marine-inspired trend.
