Prince Ethan Wont Go to Sleep | CreateMeBooks Review & Giveaway

Ethan has always been Mr Active! He's always wanting to be on the go.. which I suppose for a 2 year old, is totally normal. He loves being outside and jumping all over his Dad and I.. he loves a good old bit of rough and tumble! I think if he could, Ethan would spend most of his day outside - probably in the park or off somewhere exploring. I hope he'll always have such excitement for the great outdoors!

But it's not just the outside world that Ethan loves, he also has a great love for books! He has so many books, that we have to keep buying him new shelves to put them all on, but then those shelves just get full too! Like with being outside, Ethan loves a bit of exploring.. exploring the different worlds that each book offers (just as I did as a kid really). It's important that he likes being read to and that he enjoys flicking through books himself.. reading books was such a big part of my own childhood. They allowed my mind to run away in to new worlds, they sparked creativity in me and taught me to appreciate writing. Writing is something my Mum used to do a lot of, she wrote a book once about my brothers favourite toy. It was a great read.. it was never published though, but I think if she dug it out now, she'd have a great chance of getting it in to the shops!

And it's not just my Mum who had the inspiration from her children to start writing a book..  Mum of three children 21, 16, 4 and foster mum to siblings aged 4 and 5, Lisa Wilson, decided to write her little girl, Lilly, a bedtime story after a big operation that required a long recovery. After a few months following the enjoyment she'd had with the project, she decided to turn it into a business. Now all set up, she has a website www.createmebooks.com with the idea being that people can visit the site and create personalised children's books for their little ones (aged 2-7) online. She explains, "It not only allows people to personalise the name of the character in the book with their special ones name but also how it looks. This means that no matter what your heritage is, there is a book for you. This is very close to my heart as I have two dual heritage children".

Lisa's website is so easy to navigate and when it came to creating Ethan and Logan's personalised stories it was simple, quick and fun. The story itself is really captivating - I love the versus and the way they rhyme. Ethan and Logan actually snuggled up together in Ethans bed the first time we read "Prince Ethan Won't Go To Sleep" and they both sat there silently throughout - Ethan eagerly listening and following along with the story and Logan totally captivated by the pictures. The story is one of those stories that you'd happily pick up night after night to read again and again. The story sort of reminded me of the books that we love by Julia Donaldson, where you just feel really interested in the story and the way they're written make them so easy to read. The book is the perfect length and of course, the fact that it's personalised for your little one just adds to making it even more totally wonderful.
