Brothers | January 2016

They've had six months of being brothers, my two little boys. Ethan's had six months of getting used to having a sibling and Mummy and Daddy having another baby to love and to care for. He's had to accept that his time is split and that he doesn't always have our attention. He's had to have less one on one time and he even now has to share his baths!

But he's never complained. He's not always liked the idea of sharing his things and there are times when he has asked me to put Logan 'down for a sleep' (haha!), but he really does seem to love being a big brother. And it's not just his big brother 'role' that he loves - it's his little brother that he really loves the most.

It's the small things that Ethan does that remind us how much he loves and cares about Logan. He is very protective of Logan and he doesn't like it if Logan gets too upset and if he does, Ethan's face instantly fills with concern. My favourite moments are when Ethan randomly decides to stroke Logans head or lean in to him for a cuddle. As their Mum, it's just such an amazing thing to see.

It's the moments when Ethan is happy to sit with Logan or have his photo taken with him that make me smile too. I love playing with them together, there's not a lot of things that we can do at their current ages as they like different things. But we do lots of singing and nursery rhymes as well as tickling - which they love. Logan loves it when his brother runs around the living room pretending to be a 'jet plane', it makes him smile and giggle, which is cute to see. Logan has a special smile that he only really seems to do for Ethan - it's an excited smile coupled with an uncontrollable little giggle. It's hard to explain unless you've seen it, but it's there and it's lovely. It really is incredible to watch them both grow and to see their bond develop.

I feel lucky everyday for my two sweet little boys. Raising both a baby and a toddler at the same time is not always easy, but they make their Daddy and I so incredibly happy and so very very proud.

  10. Aww this is lovely! It's so cute seeing the younger one reacting to the older one with giggles. I remember Z used to bang the table on Miss C's high chair and she would be in fits of giggles.
