Dear Logan; Welcome to the World

Dear my darling little boy Logan,

You're here, you're finally here. I've thought and dreamt about you for so long, far longer than the nine months that I carried you inside of my body for. You're my little boy, my second Son. I'm a Mum of two, of two beautiful, healthy little boys. I've made and had two children with the love of my life - your Daddy. What more could I possibly want?!

Logan, we've been waiting for you to come and complete our family. You've been so loved and so wanted much longer than you've been alive - you're so very special to us. We've been waiting to begin our new chapter as a family of four, but you're just starting out on your very own chapter - this is the very beginning of your life. Life is yours to make of what you want of it. We'll always be here to hold your hand and to guide you. We'll do everything in our power to give you the very best life that we possibly can and to make you happy every single day. But life is yours, you only get one and it's so very precious. My dream for you is that your life will be full of happiness, that you will always be content, that you'll always know how loved you are. That when you're older, you'll make and find a sort of happiness that you can't explain in words and that ultimately your life will be the very best it can be. 

Logan as you lay here beside me right now, just over 48 hours old, wrapped up in a muslin cloth and snuggled up in your moses basket, you look so tiny, you're making little noises almost like whimpers but really you're just asleep and dreaming, my heart is exploding with love, with pride and with joy. It's impossible to put in to words how thankful I am for you. Giving birth to you was the hardest thing that I've ever physically done, but as soon as they put you on my chest, that very first moment I saw you, it all made sense. Life is the most precious thing in the entire world and family is what life is all about.

Here are some photographs of your first few moments of your life with the two people who will always love and protect you unconditionally. I love you more than you'll ever know.
