A Late (With Good Reason) Me and Mine: June 2015

I really love joining in each month with the Me and Mine link up that the lovely Lucy from Dear Beautiful created. Capturing a family photograph to represent our month to then share here on my blog has become one of my favourite things to do. I love being able to not only look back on what we were doing, how we felt, what we looked like but also to see how much we've changed, how we've grown.

We cheated for June and took this on the 2nd July instead - two days after Logan arrived, but a little cheating is acceptable when you've just given birth right?! ;) Plus, we couldn't let June pass without marking the fact that our little man arrived on the very last day of the month!

This month I'm five days late with uploading our family photograph, but it is of course with very good reason following the birth of baby Logan. I'd purposely been holding out all month waiting for him to arrive, he'd been due on the 22nd June and when he didn't show up on his due date I joked that he'd come on the 30th meaning I'd just miss being able to snap a picture of all four of us. He, of course, did in fact then go on to decide that the 30th June would be forever known as his birthday, keeping us all rather impatiently waiting for a whole week and a day.. I guess he wanted to ensure that his birthday was exactly half way through the year - I suppose that way you get to split christmas and birthday presents up equally then don't you?! Clever little monkey!

On the Monday, the 29th, the day I'd been for a stretch and sweep to get things moving, we decided to take a last minute snap of all three of us (or four if you count the ever-present Charlie the cat in the background of one of them). I never managed to get around to uploading our last minute attempts though, as that night my contractions began and then by the next morning - I was a Mum of two and our family had grown from a three to a four.

Our last minute June attempts of a Me and Mine family photo - I never managed to get around to uploading them as my contractions began that night and by the next morning Logan was born!

I've felt so much better this time around post giving birth, I was discharged from hospital the very same day I had Logan and have been up and active ever since (which is a totally different experience compared to when I had Ethan). We had our first family outing on Logans second day of life, a short walk up to our local childrens park (the first park trip of hundreds more I'm sure). During our stroll back we found a quiet little spot to set our tripod up and snap our first family-of-four photograph. It felt pretty surreal seeing all four of us in one picture. We're so used to seeing just the three of us when we go to review our pictures back, but this time here we were suddenly as a four. Four people in our little family.. a family that we created. It's a very surreal, utterly magical feeling and though I look a little tired in it, this is one photograph that I know I will treasure forever. It's the moment that Adam and I proudly stood cuddled up to our two children, in front of our camera, by a field in our little village that we've walked past so many times on route to the park. We took a snapshot of a moment in time, a moment that represents the very beginning of what will hopefully be a very long, happy and healthy journey. The journey of our lives as a family of four.

This month I am sending you to over to the beautiful Jenny from Lets Talk Mommy. Her and her family are just absolutely stunning and she has shared some absolutely gorgeous photographs of her and her family who are in a very sunny looking America right now (Gorgeous photos Jenny! - I'm really not jealous at all!!!).

It makes me feel like I want to try naturally as I'm dreading the healing process with another c-section. So nice you have been able to really enjoy these first few days. Congratulations to you all again xxx
